“Court” sentences person to prison for questions asked in messenger
The Southern District Court has concluded consideration of a criminal case against Dmitry Adamenko, a native of the village of Simeiz, who allegedly expressed through messenger correspondence his intention to join the “Russian Volunteer Corps” and fight against the Russian army.
Judge Pavel Gubarev found him guilty on three counts of justifying terrorism, as well as intentions to become a member of a terrorist organization and commit high treason, sentencing him to 12 years imprisonment with the first two years to be served in prison. It is noteworthy that the case was considered against a resident of occupied territory in a Russian court, which contradicts the requirements of the IV Geneva Convention.
Details of Dmitry Adamenko’s detention are not disclosed, while an unrestrained press campaign is recorded, where in addition to the intention to join the RVC [Russian Volunteer Corps], the Crimean resident is attributed with cooperation with the SBU [Security Service of Ukraine], without explaining the source of their knowledge about these circumstances.
