VILEN TEMERYANOV

Vilen Temeryanov is a correspondent of the Crimean Solidarity public initiative and the Grany.ru publication.

At 4 a.m. on August 11, 2022, Russian security forces began the raid at the correspondent’s house. Nothing illegal was found in the house. At the end of the raid, all equipment, mobile phones and laptops were seized, and Vilen was ordered to take things and money for the trip back. The man was detained on charges of participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organisation, which is considered a terrorist organisation on the territory of the Russian Federation.

As his wife, Elmaz Gazieva, reported, Vilen’s eyes hurt due to constant tension when examining objects. Temeryanov is forced to use glasses that his relatives had chosen and given to him. However, this is not the only health problem: probably due to the diet and sedentary lifestyle in the pre-trial detention centre, Vilen has a stomach ache and issues with his teeth.
